In a recent visit with our eldest in community, Sr. Kathleen Mary, CP, I was reminded in a spirited Irish brogue: “Theresina, remember: Life is an echo – what you send out comes back one hundred fold.”  And so, I want to take this opportunity to thank you wholeheartedly for your many gifts shared this past year with Our Lady of Calvary Retreat Center; it was a blessed 50th anniversary celebration!

Throughout this retreat season, I have met many of you as you “came away to rest for a while.”  During your parish weekend or at that special reflection day, you were able to unburden your hearts and enfold your souls with peace and joy.  I am graced to see this transformation over and over, and I am especially touched by the gratitude—often wrapped in tears—of women who would not have been able to share in retreat unless they were “gifted” with a scholarship from you. THANKS!

Your generosity in our 2007-08 Annual Appeal truly resonates Matthew’s guiding principle: “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be.”  I hope you can see reflections of your treasure in the improvements OLC has made to our facility and our grounds (the enclosed flyer is a testimony of your generosity).  THANKS!

I fully understand the challenges faced by families, individuals and small businesses in these uncertain times; OLC faces the same challenges!  As we keep you in our prayers, we place our facility and services at your disposal.  We ask that you keep us in your prayers and—if you are able—that you contribute to our 2008-09 Annual Appeal.  Good stewardship is a hallmark of OLC; you can count on us to use your generous gifts in a way that will honor and benefit this blessed ministry.  W.T.
