About Our Presenters
Shawnee Baldwin
serves as Coordinator of Youth and Young Adult Ministry in the Hartford Archdiocese Office of Religious Education.
She holds a BA from St. Joseph College and an MA in Religious Studies from Hartford Seminary. Certified in Youth
and Lay Ministry, she also serves as Region I Coordinator for New England Youth Ministry and Archdiocesan
Facilitator for the "Protecting God's Children" program. She has developed and presented Confirmation retreats,
youth rallies and national youth conferences.
JoAnne Ceccarelli-Egan, LCSE, LMFT,
founder of New Perspective Counseling, maintains her practice at Our Lady of Calvary Retreat. JoAnne holds a BA in
Psychology, and Masters' Degrees in Social Work and Pastoral Counseling. Specializing in women's issues, she has
provided individual and marital counseling for the past 25 years, and is Board Certified in Hypnotherapy.

Joan Dylan
is WRCH-FM's (Lite 100.5) popular mid-day host. As a mother of two, Joan connects well with her audience,
understanding the busy lifestyle we all share as we juggle work responsibilities and family life. A lifelong
resident of Connecticut, Joan is a loyal Yankees fan. When not cheering on the men in pinstripes, Joan can often
be seen and heard cheering on her own children at their sporting events.
Maurice Doody, OP
is a Dominican Sister and founder and director of the Office of new Directions-a facility dedicated to the support
of alcoholic and chemically dependent women and men religious. As a recovering alcoholic celebrating 35+ years of
sobriety, she is nationally known as a retreat leader for those in recovery.
Michael Higgins
is a performance artist and chainsaw sculptor who specializes in confined time-frame completed works at events both
small and large-from corporate gatherings to massive citywide festivals. A graduate of Rhode Island College, he
burst onto the art scene in 1995 with his first major publicly-acknowledged chainsaw sculpture. Having a special
passion for education, he subsequently has focused his interest on developing a program for school children at all
grade levels. His work is on display throughout the Northeast, including Providence Children's Museum, Johnson and
Wales University, and Boston's Franklin Park Zoo.
Michael Moran, CP
professed his vows in 1974 as a Brother of the Eastern Province of the Passionist Community in the USA. Since then,
he has spent much time and private study developing his artistic talents. Proficient in many media, one of his
specialties is painting icons, translating this ancient art form of the Eastern Christian Churches into contemporary
terms. His works have been exhibited since 1985 in galleries and museums around the country.
Keith Muccino, SJ, MD
is a Jesuit priest and practicing physician specializing in internal and emergency medicine. A graduate of Holy
Cross College and Loyola University Medical School, he currently serves as Assistant Dean for Education at Loyola's
Stritch School of Medicine. Complementing his work as a priest, physician and educator, Fr. Muccino also has a
life-long love of retreat work. That ministry has prompted him to reach out to parishes, organizations and
professional groups in the greater Chicago area, with a focus on integrating faith into the busy pace of everyday
contemporary life.
John Powers, CP
is a Passionist priest and the author of eight books, two of them for children. His life's work also includes
Parish mission and Retreat preaching. He has served as Director at Calvary Retreat Center in Shrewsbury, Mass.,
and worked with the retreat team for women's weekends here at OLC. He has completed a Master's level Bibliodrama
training program in Germany.
Maria Tomasetti
is a Family Services Coordinator for the Alzheimer's Association, Conn. Chapter, who shares responsibility for
Helpline and Care Consultation services. The Alzheimer's Assn. is the primary source of information and support
to thousands of state residents dealing with the effects of the disease or a related dementia. With offices
statewide, they offer multilingual Helpline support, Family Training Seminars, Care Consultation, Support Groups
and Educational programs for both healthcare professionals and caregivers. In addition to coordinating such
outreach programs, Maria also helped provide care for her own mother, who lived with Alzheimer's-type dementia
for many years.
